SABRINA BEWITCHES THE JUDGE IN OPEN DAIRY GOAT SHOW AT 2011 PA FARM SHOW

Harrisburg - Saanen doe, GCH Tradewinds RL Sabrina was named Best Doe in Show on Friday, Jan. 14, at the 2011 PA Farm Show in Harrisburg. Sabrina was exhibited by Todd Biddle of Elizabethtown, Lancaster County.

Biddle's four-year-old Saanen goat is just one out of his herd called "Royal Colors." Biddle additionally won Reserve Grand Champion of the Saanen Breed with his Sno-Dreams MQJ Peppermint Patty.

Judge Barbara Norcross of Havenhill, N.H., commended all exhibitors on "the tremendous amount of work they put into bringing and presenting animals in the show." Judge Norcross is an American Dairy Goat Association Advanced Judge and has been judging for 28 years.

The judge explained that Sabrina's "excellent mammary system, especially height and width of her rear udder attachment" set her above the rest of the competition.

Seven breeds and divisions were represented in the competition including Alpine, La Mancha, Nubian, Toggenburg, Saanen, All Other Purebreds and Record Grades.

The Pennsylvania Farm Show is the largest indoor agricultural event in the nation, featuring nearly 6,000 animals, 10,000 competitive exhibits and 290 commercial exhibitors. The show runs Jan. 8-15 at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center in Harrisburg. Admission is free and parking is $10.
