YORK COUNTY TEAM WINS SIX-HORSE HITCH AT 2011 PA FARM SHOW

Harrisburg - Leon Wintermeyer, Inc. of Etters, York County, won the six-horse hitch class on Sunday, Jan. 9, at the 2011 Pennsylvania Farm Show in Harrisburg.

Wintermeyer's Percheron hitch topped the class of six hitches in the six-horse hitch class. Wintermeyer also placed second in the Team Hitch Commercial class.

Winner of the Four Horse Hitch was Dale Brockhoff, of Brockwood Belgians in Dayton, Armstrong County. There were 10 four-horse hitches in the class.

Unicorn Hitch winner was Ken and Karen Sandoe, of Sunny Hill Farm in Myerstown, Lebanon County. There were 11 teams in the class that consisted of 3 horses per team.

The Team Hitch Commercial class winner was Dave and Susie Rohrbach of Bee Tree Trail LLC from Shartlesville, Berks County. Five teams competed in the team hitch commercial class.

The Pennsylvania Farm Show is the largest indoor agricultural event in the nation, featuring nearly 6,000 animals, 10,000 competitive exhibits and 290 commercial exhibitors. The show runs Jan. 8-15 at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center in Harrisburg. Admission is free and parking is $10.
