Butler, Lancaster and Schuylkill County Teens Take Top Honors

Harrisburg - The Pennsylvania High School Rodeo drew an enthusiastic crowd of more than 6,000 Saturday, Jan. 8, to the 2010 Pennsylvania Farm Show. The full house watched as Pennsylvania's high school youth participated in pole bending, bull riding, barrel racing, calf roping, goat tying, calf roping and more.

Youth from Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Maryland competed for the top spots in the Pennsylvania High School Rodeo Association. To qualify for the national competition, a rider must be ranked in the top four in point standings at the state level.

Brother and sister duo Tyler and Emily Weber of Reinholds, Lancaster County, roped top honors in Team Roping, winning the evening performance.

Kyle Carson of Evans City, Butler County, earned first place in both bull riding performances of the day. Carson said he has aspirations of riding bulls professionally someday.

In the Junior Division, Grayson Cole of Cressona, Schuylkill County, edged Dillin Holub, Sunbury, Northumberland County by only one point.
