Harrisburg – Agriculture Secretary Russell C. Redding today invited Pennsylvania Farm Show enthusiasts and exhibitors to the PA Preferred Reception from 6 – 8 p.m., on Friday, Jan. 7, at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center.
Tickets for the reception are $30 and reservations are due by Friday, Dec. 10, to Jared Grissinger at the Department of Agriculture, 2301 N. Cameron Street, Harrisburg, PA, 17110. Tickets will be mailed in advance of the reception.
The reception, which will kick off the 95th Pennsylvania Farm Show, will have stations featuring tastings of Pennsylvania-produced food and beverage products.
“The Pennsylvania Farm Show is a unique place to showcase the bounty of our state’s agriculture industry and build a relationship between farmers and consumers,” said Redding. “The PA Preferred Reception is the start of eight days that focus solely on the good work being done by our industry, and we invite our Farm Show friends to help start the week off.”
Held in the Exposition Hall, the reception will feature samples of Pennsylvania food and beverage products including beef, pork, lamb, chicken, trout, cheeses, mushrooms and desserts. Local beverages will include milk, sodas, craft beers and wines, among others.
Eight Pennsylvania food companies will also provide samples at life-sized educational exhibits created by Pennsylvania FFA Association members.
Invitations and response cards are available on the Farm Show website at www.farmshow.state.pa.us under “2011 Show.” Reception sponsorship opportunities are also available.
