Crème de Menthe Brownies Stand Out with Unique Flavor at 2010 PA Farm Show
1/9/2010

Harrisburg – Adrianne Jackson baked up the winning brownie at the annual Hershey’s® Cocoa Classic Cookie/Brownie/Bar contest at the 2010 Pennsylvania Farm Show in Harrisburg.

Jackson of Nazareth, Northampton County received $250 for her mint flavored brownies.

“In a year where we saw a lot of peanut butter, the mint sort of stood out by itself,” judge Chris Fickes said.

The panel of five judges included members of The Hershey Company, the Owner/Personal Chef of Tempt Your Palate, and a Cooking Contest competitor/winner.

They evaluated 80 entries on flavor, texture, inside characteristics, outside characteristics and creativity to narrow it down to the top five.

Second prize and $100 was awarded to Sara Kurtz of Lehigh County. Emily Farner of Cumberland County won $50 for her third-place entry. Jon Kershner of Berks County was fourth and Matthew Brown of Lancaster County took fifth.
