YOUTH FLOCK TO FARM SHOW POULTRY COMPETITIONS

HARRISBURG – Poultry youth were well represented in the 2009 Pennsylvania Farm Show as nearly 30 youth participated in the showmanship contest and 60 youth entered a poster contest. 
 
On Saturday, Jan. 10, 27 youth competed in the showmanship contest in five age categories.  Each was judged on his or her ability to showcase individual poultry species in addition to their knowledge of poultry and the poultry industry.
       
Poultry youth submitted 60 educational posters that reflected their 4-H or FFA project work and knowledge of the industry.  The posted were each 14 x 22 inches.
