York County Youth Receives Top Honors
HARRISBURG – Whitney Kessinger’s Fullblood/Purebred Boer Doe, “Glamour Girl,” was named Grand Champion in the Junior Meat Breeding Goat show on Thursday, Jan. 15, at the 2009 Pennsylvania Farm Show in Harrisburg. 
The East Berlin, York County, 4-H’er’s prized doe topped more than 90 goats in the show.
Reserve Grand Champion, Jane, was exhibited by York County 4-H’er Emily Bankert of Hanover, Pa.
Judge Dr.  Beth Walker of Dadeville, M.O., sorted through the high caliber meat goats to choose her top competitors in the show.
Youth meat goat breeders from across Pennsylvania competed in the show’s three divisions, Fullblood/Purebred, Percentage, and Crossbred.
The results of the three divisions are as follows:
Fullblood/Purebred Boer Doe
Champion Fullblood/Purebred Boer Doe:  Glamour Girl, exhibited by Whitney Kessinger of East Berlin, York Co.
Reserve Champion Fullblood/Purebred Boer Doe:  Exhibited by Hayden Remsburg of Middletown, Dauphin Co.

Percentage Boer Doe
Champion Percentage Boer Doe:  STI Stargaze, exhibited by Josh Stitt of Carlisle, Cumberland County.
Reserve Champion Percentage Boer Doe:  Molly, exhibited by Nicole McCord of Airviille, York County.

Crossbred Doe
Champion Crossbred Doe: Jane, exhibited by Emily Bankert of Hanover, York Co.
Reserve Champion Crossbred Doe: Whitnee, exhibited by Emily Bankert of Hanover, York Co.
